Facilities and Travel Notes

Boroka Lookout is just a short and easy walk from the car park. Moreover, this also makes it one of the most accessible lookout locations in the Grampians National Park since there are pathed footways and safe viewing platforms. Moreover, this makes it an excellent activity for families and those in need of wheelchair accessibility!

While the safety barriers are high enough, keep an eye on adventurous children that may try to climb over them; There are some extremely high and dangerous drop-off points.

Furthermore, there are a handful of picnic tables near the lookout if you’d like to enjoy a coffee or lunch in the stunning location. However, keep in mind that the temperature drops low, considering this is an area of high elevation. So, rug up with plenty of warm clothes and bring a comfy beanie! Sometimes, there is a bit of snowfall in the area.

Additionally, you make like to bring along a pair of binoculars to inspect the view or bring a camera to take some awesome photos!

There are two platforms to use while enjoying the view. One of which has a bench so you can enjoy a seat while taking in the surroundings. Not to mention, this would be an epic setting for a proposal!

While visiting, please be respectful of others and keep your voices down. Also, do not feed the wildlife as it causes them to rely on humans for survival.

Finally, this observation area is open 24 hours, and there are public toilet facilities available for your convenience. So, please take your rubbish home with you and avoid littering this magnificent place.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT cross over the safety barriers at any point, as there are a few people that have fallen to their death!

The Sunrise at Boroka Lookout

The best time of day to visit this stunning Grampians lookout is easily sunrise. Although, you will need to get to this location a little earlier than when the sun rises to watch the complete colour shift of the sky. And, while it’s typically cold, I promise that the view will be more than worth it!

Furthermore, keep an eye on the weather forecast. There isn’t much point in heading to the view on an overcast day. Although, morning fog truly adds a stunning element to the lookout.

To illustrate, it’s incredibly beautiful watching the sunrise here as the sky glows a magnificent shade of orange, and the fog over the grasslands creates a mystical vibe while trees create striking shadows.

Finally, if you’d prefer to visit during the day, it is just as beautiful, and the experience will still be remarkable!
