Enjoy a Hike

If you’re up for an adventure and have a reasonable fitness level, then I’d recommend taking the hiking trail around the magnificent lookout. Besides, this is an ideal location for a morning walk or running track to enjoy with a friend or family member or go solo!

Begin the journey by parking your vehicle at the lookout parking lot. Then, head towards the lookout to enjoy the view for a moment before you begin the loop track.

Next, walk towards the lower platform and follow the dirt trail in a loop. You will want to use the Tramway Track walk for the longer 3.5km route. Follow the signage around to return to the lookout and enjoy stunning views over the ocean and St George River.

On the other hand, you can use the shorter circuit walk for a shorter route; This is ideal if you have children walking with you. However, be wary of snakes as they may be present in the bushland. And for this walking trail, you will need to use Teddy’s Lookout Circuit track to complete the walk.

Distance: 3.5km
Grade: Easy
Time: 1.25hrs
Dogs: Not allowed

Feel free to use this map of the circuit.

Additional Information and Tips for Visiting

Firstly, dogs are permitted on a leash to the lookout, however, they are not allowed to complete any of the walking trails. Nonetheless, it’s still nice to get the chance to bring your four-legged friend to this fascinating viewpoint.

Secondly, I’d recommend visiting this location on a clear day. There’s nothing worse when you visit a lookout, and the sky is dull with very little visibility. Therefore, ensure the weather is clear before hitting up this iconic location. Or, at least establish cloud cover and fog is at a minimum.

Thirdly, it might be nice to take a camera for photographic memories. Besides, this is a perfect opportunity for some fun pictures with friends and family.

Additionally, use the informative signage for more information on the area and discover the history of the region. There is also a guide for native bird species in the area so keep an eye out for them!

Finally, there are snakes in the area, and while I’ve never come upon one, it pays to stay vigilant at all times. Therefore, keep a close eye on children and dogs at all times.
