M Box Hostel in Gili Trawangan has to be one of Indonesia’s best hostels. Moreover, enjoy the relaxing island lifestyle by day while you refuel yourself for a night of fun partying on the beach.

Not to mention, the hostel runs many fantastic activities, and the staff are always involved in the activities with their guests. It’s an awesome dynamic that rarely happens at other hostels.

Where is M Box Hostel?

M Box Hostel is located on Gili Trawangan island in Indonesia. Moreover, the hostel is on the Eastern side of the island where most of the parties, cafes and bars take place.

M Box is only a few streets back from the beach and is easily accessible by foot. It will only take you about 5 minutes to walk to the main street for whatever it is that you’d like to do.

About the Accommodation

There are two different types of rooms that you can stay when visiting M Box Hostel. Firstly, you can choose to stay in a dorm or, you can select one of the private rooms.

The dorm rooms have a total of three single beds in each and are very comfortable for a few days’ stay. Moreover, each room is air-conditioned and there is plenty of space to put your belongings. Not to mention, each dorm has its own key card which makes it feel ultra-safe!

Another great feature of the hostel is that the men’s and female’s dorms are separated down different corridors. So, for those of you that prefer select-gender dorms, you might appreciate this feature.

Secondly, the next option is to select one of the private rooms. This way you can enjoy ultimate privacy with your own bathroom and double bed.

Finally, you will also receive a free breakfast which is great for those on a budget! Also, there is a pool, lounges and common area to hang out.

Tip: This is a party / social hostel, so there is always going to be a lot of music and many people hanging out in the common area. However, around 10 PM every night is when everyone heads off into town to party.

Is M Box Hostel Worth Staying In?

This hostel is easily one of the best in Gili Trawangan and is an excellent place to crash for a few days. Not to mention, there are loads of activities that run daily and it’s one of the cheaper hostels on the island.

Staff are ultra-friendly and are willing to help with whatever you need. I was thoroughly impressed with their service and they made me feel right at home!

There is a huge range of activities that this hostel in Gili Trawangan takes part in daily. From free pizza nights to pool parties, there are loads of fun activities to enjoy at the hostel.

I recommend checking out the notice board for the weekly events so that you don’t miss out on any of the fun activities!

Additionally, some of the other activities that run at the hostel include beach parties, sunset boat cruises, beer pong tournaments and drinking games. There’s always something happening and it’s a great place to hang out and make some new friends!

My Review

I spent about 6 days at the hostel with a friend and loved every minute of it. I got to know the staff and they were incredibly helpful with anything I needed. They gave me plenty of advice on the island and other tips for exploring.

I was thoroughly impressed with the common area. The pool is beautiful, there are some nice lounge chairs, there’s a long communal table for everyone to socialise and there is a bar serving up some cheap drinks.

Everything at the hostel was very cheap, but the quality was still high. Also, I loved the activities that ran daily, they’ve put a lot of thought into making them, and have done an excellent job!

All in all, I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Gili Trawangan. It was one of my favourite stays in Indonesia, and I absolutely believe that they should be supported.
