Leke Leke Waterfall in Bali is quite possibly one of the most stunning waterfalls on the island. Moreover, the waterfall attracts thousands of visitors year-round who want to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the location.
The waterfall is situated in a jungle nearby a small town called Baturiti. It’s a beautiful place, and worth doing a little exploring around the area while visiting.
For the most part, it’s going to take visitors a little bit of travel time to reach the stunning Leke Leke waterfall, but this is what makes it worth the journey!

Everything You Need to Know About Leke Leke Waterfall
Where Is the Waterfall?
Leke Leke waterfall actually has a really cool location, it’s right in the middle of Bali! Nonetheless, if you’re riding from the popular beach town Canggu, you’ll be looking at around a 1-hour journey to reach the waterfall.
The waterfall is set within a stunning jungle landscape and is quite the journey to reach. It truly feels like a tropical jungle adventure!

How to Get to the Waterfall
There are a few different routes to reach the waterfall. And, depending on which way Google Maps takes you, will be a different journey.
If you are travelling via scooter, try to take the sealed road route. I ended up riding past the rice fields, and the road was very narrow, unsealed and a little bit dodgy at times.
However, experienced riders should have no problem taking this path. Nonetheless, if you can ride through the town of Baturiti, you’ll have a much easier time! (I took the hard, but scenic route).
Finally, you will park your scooter in the space provided at the top of the waterfall, and then make your way through the gates to reach the base of the falls.

Entrance Fee
You will need to pay a fee of 50,000 IDR ($5 AUD) to get to visit the waterfall. However, this means you can stay for as long as you like and enjoy all the surroundings of the waterfall.
Also, parking at the entrance of the waterfall is free. You can pull your scooter up anywhere on the sidewalk and leave it there to safely return to.

Can You Swim in Leke Leke Waterfall?
You can swim at the waterfall, though the pool is quite shallow. Nonetheless, after a short hike, it’s nice to have a little bit of a splash to refresh yourself.
Besides, this water is ultra crisp and makes you feel insanely rejuvenated. Moreover, if you would like to get changed for a swim, there is a changing room just before reaching the base of the waterfall.
Feel free to make use of the room to get changed into or out of swimwear. Finally, there are a few spots you can enjoy the cool water. But, be careful climbing the rocks as they are very slippery!
Visit the Waterfall on a Tour
If you would like to visit Leke Leke waterfall, but don’t want to head there by yourself, you can reach the waterfall by going on a tour.
Moreover, this is a great way to do some exploring and see some other stunning waterfalls in Bali. However, I highly recommend booking in advance, as they can tend to sell out!

Is It Worth Visiting?
Leke Leke waterfall in Bali is my favourite waterfall that I came across! It’s a beautifully dramatic waterfall set in a stunning jungle area, and I think it’s absolutely worth a visit.
If you have enough time to set aside to explore the waterfall, make sure to do so! I think you would need around 4 hours for the entire journey to and from if you are coming from Ubud, Canggu or Seminyak.
The Leke Leke Experience
I visited Leke Leke waterfall in Bali in 2022 and it truly didn’t disappoint! I rode about 1 hour from Ubud to reach the waterfall and got to drive past stunning rice fields along a dirt track.
Soon, I reached the entrance and parked my scooter nearby. Then, I paid the ticket of 50,000 Rupiahs and head through the gate to make my way down to the waterfall.
I visited during the rainy season, so the track was insanely muddy! (This is something to keep in mind when you plan on visiting). Some of the areas were really slippery and it was hard to avoid stepping in inches of thick mud.
I carefully made my way down the trail which got a little bit steep at times and then wandered across the bamboo bridge. The rest of the track was quite easy to walk along, and then I came upon the stunning Leke Leke waterfall.
Seriously, this waterfall is gorgeous! And the jungle landscape around the area is so beautiful. I took a few moments to take some photos and then made my way to the base of the waterfall.
There is a large rock in front of the pool where a lot of people like to get photos. Feel free to carefully climb the rock to get a picture if you wish!
Enjoy the waterfall for some time and then make your way back up the same track. Before leaving, I made sure to stop in at the local restaurant to support them. I’ve heard they make really tasty food, so it might be worth grabbing some lunch!
Unfortunately, there is no viewing platform to enjoy the waterfall from above. However, the restaurant does have some beautiful views over the jungle canopy.
Tips for Visiting Leke Leke Waterfall
There are a handful of things that you need to keep in mind when getting ready to visit the waterfall. So, let’s dive into some things that you should bring and what not!
- Wear sunscreen: Load up on a reef-friendly sunscreen like this one to protect yourself and the environment. For the most part, the jungle offers filtered sunlight, but travel to and from the waterfall may result in burnt skin!
- Pack plenty of water: You will have no issue purchasing an additional bottle of water at the local restaurant. However, bringing enough with you will ensure you are good to go for the hike to the base of the falls.
- Don’t wear your best shoes: The hike to the waterfall may be extremely muddy. I recommend wearing some hiking shoes, or shoes that you’re okay with trudging through mud. No white sneakers! (You’ll thank me later)
- Take a backpack: Keep your hands free to get to the bottom and pack all your belongings safely into a backpack. Consider purchasing a travel backpack like this one. It’s great for day adventures and packs down nice and small!
- Pack a set of swimwear: In case you plan on swimming, it might be nice to jump into some swimwear!
- Refill your water bottle at the falls: If you have a travel-filtering water bottle, consider refilling it at the waterfall! I got to enjoy some lovely fresh and crisp water, and highly recommend considering purchasing a GRAYL bottle for travel!
