The Beaches in Quy Nhon are some of the most stunning along the entire Vietnamese coastline. And, Quy Nhon is a truly beautiful coastal town.

There are a number of gorgeous beaches to enjoy when visiting this beautiful area of the world. However, you may need a little bit of travel advice to get yourself there.

Nevertheless, I’ve gone ahead and discovered some stunning locations to visit, and have created a travel guide so that other travellers can experience this beautiful coastline.

So, let’s dive in and get you all worded up about the best beaches to visit while spending time in Quy Nhon.

Where is Quy Nhon?

Quy Nhon is a coastal city in the south of Vietnam. Moreover, it’s north of the tourist hotspot Nha Trang and is about a 13-hour drive north of Ho Chi Minh City.

Quy Nhon surprisingly doesn’t attract a lot of tourists, however, there is a load of expats living in this city. I think that it’s an excellent place to visit and well worth a few days trip.

Is Quy Nhon Worth Visiting?

Quy Nhon is a beautiful coastal town and is absolutely worth a visit. There are a number of great sights to see, and there are lots happening within the town.

Besides, there are much fewer tourists trekking through the area so it feels like a much more authentic Vietnamese experience!

I couldn’t recommend it enough, and I met a bunch of awesome expats while travelling through.

Tip: If you plan on visiting, be sure to check out ‘The Social’. Nick is the owner, and he originates from Canada. He was incredibly inviting and took me on some adventures throughout Quy Nhon. Plus, if you’re craving some Western food, this is your go-to spot!

How Many Days to Spend in Quy Nhon

I believe you need to spend at least 3-4 days in Quy Nhon. Moreover, this gives you the perfect amount of time to hit some of the best tourist spots and see the things you need to.

7 Best Beaches in Quy Nhon

Ky Co Beach

Ky Co Beach is easily Quy Nhons best beach. I couldn’t believe my eyes when stepping foot on the gorgeous white soft sand. The water is immeasurably blue and it’s a very clean spot to swim!

Not to mention, there are very few international tourists coming through the area. There are mostly local tourists as it’s a local-known hangout location.

Furthermore, you can do some wandering to the ends of the beach and do some snorkelling in the crystal clear water.

Keep in mind, you will need to make use of one of the golf buggy to get to the bottom of the beach. There is an insanely tall mountain to drive down and some parts of the road are incredibly steep!

Queen’s Beach

Queen’s Beach is a beautiful spot to spend an afternoon in Quy Nhon. The beach is covered in large round rocks and is like a hidden paradise.

Moreover, the beach is quite small, but the views across the water are incredibly stunning! And, the beach is actually known as ‘Stone Egg Beach’.

Unfortunately, this beach isn’t necessarily ideal for swimming since it’s covered in rocks. However, it’s a beautiful sight to see and nice to hang out for an hour.

Hon Kho Beach

Yet another one of Quy Nhons stunning beaches is Hon Kho Beach. Moreover, the water is crystal clear and a beautiful shade of blue. The water seriously sparkles!

Not to mention, there’s a lovely wide boardwalk on which you can wander along and there is plenty of sand to sprawl out along.

I’d recommend bringing a set of snorkel gear to do some exploring underwater. There are loads of fish to see underwater, and it’s a great afternoon activity.

Ben Thuyen Lang Chai

The name of this location translates to ‘Fishing Village Wharf’. However, the beach location is still a beautiful spot to perch up and enjoy for a couple of hours.

Besides, you can watch the many fishing boats in the area and enjoy the serene location set around the mountains and town.

This is a very unique spot and you might even see some of the round bamboo boats! Keep an eye out for them in the water! You might spot one of the locals spinning around in them.

Bai Bien

Bai Bien Beach is right on the main drag of Quy Nhon. Therefore, it’s the most easily accessible to the entire city.

Nonetheless, this is a beautiful spot to hang out, and there’s always lots going on. Plenty of locals will come down for a dip in the afternoon to cool off during the warmer season.

There is loads of space to sprawl out and you’ll notice the beach fill up with tonnes of tourists. It looks stunningly beautiful with the mountains and city surrounding the gorgeous location.

Besides, I think this is a great spot to stop over when spending some time in the city! Especially since it’s so easily accessible!

Truong Luong Beach

The actual name of the location is ‘Bãi tắm Trung Lương’, it’s the Vietnamese name for the beach. Nonetheless, you’ll need to head north of the city in order to reach this location.

However, the beach is large and rugged. You’ll notice plenty of surfable waves and gorgeous soft sand. Not to mention, this Quy Nhon beach becomes an absolute hotspot in the warmer seasons with tonnes of locals flocking to the waves.

Additionally, there is a beautiful large white Buddha sitting on one of the hills, which creates a gorgeous sight while spending time at the beach. I highly recommend stopping over at this location as it’s well worth the effort!

Quy Hoa Beach

Last but not least, is Quy Hoa Beach which is a little more off-the-beaten-track. However, this was one of my favourite experiences while spending time in Quy Nhon.

For the most part, the beach fills up with locals, and on weekends, they bring down their karaoke gear and get at it. Some of them are right into singing and always give it their best crack. It’s a very entertaining and strange yet fun experience!

Additionally, you will actually need to pay a small fee to enter this area as it’s actually an old leprosy colony. Fear not, leprosy is now a contained condition in Vietnam, so it is no longer a communicable disease.

And, you might be wondering, why would anyone want to visit? Well, it’s a pretty fascinating experience, and all the people are extremely lovely. Besides, it keeps a little bit of money coming into their community and brings tourism through the area.

Finally, there are loads of plaques around the area where visitors can pay their respects. Please avoid taking photos and videos throughout the village to show respect.

If you would like to learn more about the Leper colony, feel free to check out this website here.

Wrapping Up

In conclusion, these are some of the best beaches in Quy Nhon. Though, you might just stumble upon another hidden gem if you have the time to search for it.

I loved all of these beaches and believe they are well worth the effort for other tourists to enjoy. Not to mention, it’s a pretty cool experience that these locations aren’t bombarded with international tourists.

You get to see the Vietnamese enjoying a slice of their paradise which is lovely to see and experience! I recommend visiting at least three of these beaches in Quy Nhon while spending time in the city.
