How to Get to the Golden Bridge

The trip to the Golden Bridge is actually quite a journey. Firstly, you will need to find a way from Da Nang to the Ba Na Hills Sunworld theme park. For the most part, it should take you around 40 minutes to reach this theme park from the city centre of Da Nang.

And, I highly recommend hiring a motorbike and completing the journey yourself as a private vehicle will be the priciest way to reach this location. Or, you can catch the local buses that run to this location.

Type the below address into maps and use the Ba Na – Suoi Mo highway to reach the location. Additionally, there is plenty of parking for motorcycles in a sheltered area out the front of the theme park.

However, please remember to take note of your registration number and snap a few photos of your bike’s whereabouts. You will truly struggle to find it later on amongst the sea of motorbikes upon returning to head home!

Finally, head into the theme park and wander the stunning halls to reach the cable car experience. Moreover, take time to enjoy the absolute beauty of the hand-painted ceilings. They tell a gorgeous story of life in Vietnam and are incredible to look at.

When to Visit

Try to avoid visiting the bridge during the rainy season as you wouldn’t want to get caught in the mountain during a storm. Or, try to have a good idea of what the weather is doing for the day.

It’s best to visit this location when it’s clear so that you have the best visibility over the Da Nang region.

For the most part, anywhere between April and August make up the best time of year to visit Da Nang. As for the time of day, it’s probably best to get to this location early to beat the crows.

So, try and arrive here upon opening. Moreover, this ensures fewer crowds and a more enjoyable experience to explore the theme park.

Is the Golden Bridge Worth Visiting?

I absolutely think that the Golden Bridge is worth visiting as there are numerous things you can enjoy while visiting the theme park. Firstly, the bridge is fascinating and the large hands look pretty incredible emerging out of the mountains.

Secondly, there are a couple of temples, a large Buddha statue, and gardens to enjoy wandering around.

And finally, the cable car ride makes up the best part of the journey. Moreover, the views along the ride are absolutely stunning in which I go into more detail within the next section.

Cable Car Ride

I strongly believe that the cable car ride is half the fun of visiting the Golden Bridge in Da Nang. Firstly, the ride takes around 10 minutes to reach the top, and it really feels like it’s never going to stop.

You will get to gradually watch the park entrance area fade away as you make your way up the mountain; It really feels like it goes on forever. I suppose, it is a 5km cable car ride, which makes it feel ultra-long!

Not to mention, there is a waterfall you can enjoy called Thác An Bình Waterfall. Take a moment and look out the window to enjoy the gorgeous falls. And, you will get to watch the water run through the river; It is beautiful!

Finally, enjoy the stunning views over the bushland and watch the city of Da Nang slowly grow as you climb in altitude. I really loved this part of the experience!

Entrance Fee and Opening Hours

The Golden Bridge isn’t the cheapest activity for those on a budget, however, it’s a fantastic experience for all travellers. Moreover, the fee is 750,000 VND ($45 AUD) for adults and 600,000 VND for children.

The opening hours are 8 AM to 6:30 PM every day.

Travel Tips

For the most part, a day trip to this theme park is pretty straightforward. You only really need the essentials. However, I recommend bringing enough money to pay the entrance fee, and to grab yourself lunch or a drink at the theme park. Keep in mind, it will be a little pricier than usual as you are paying for tourism prices!

Additionally, I advise bringing plenty of water as you will be doing lots of walking around! This leads me to my next point of wearing comfortable shoes. Don’t get caught wandering for hours in flip flops or thongs. Wear some comfortable sneakers that you can walk for hours in.

Finally, I recommend bringing a camera or even a pair of binoculars if you have them handy. The views at the top are absolutely breathtaking, and you’ll want to snap a few photos. Therefore, bringing a quality camera with a telephoto lens is a great way to capture some of the city!
