Beautiful Hidden Trail in Ubud

The Campuhan Ridge Walk is an absolute hidden oasis behind the bustling streets of Ubud. Besides, it’s a great way to get off the main drag and discover a different side of the town.

It’s one of those places that you can’t really believe exists right next to a pumping little town. I recommend wandering this trail during sunrise when the temperature is lower. Not to mention, the views will be beautiful and the entire valley will glow.

Furthermore, there are two rivers running parallel to the track which creates a really cool valley. I think this is one of the more unique hikes in Ubud and it has fantastic accessibility from the town.

Finally, be sure to add this location to your itinerary as it’s most definitely worth a visit!

Where Is the Campuhan Ridge Walk?

The Campuhan Ridge Walk is just on the edge of the main drag of Ubud. Moreover, you will need to walk along Jl. Raya Ubud until you come across Jl. Raya Campuhan.

Follow this road down and then walk down the steep paved hill to head towards the trail. Additionally, you can make a pit stop at the Pura Gunung Lebah temple if you wish.

Finally, make your way to Jl. Bangkiang Sidem to start your journey along the trail.

Not to mention, you can start the walk at either end of the trail, however, most people tend to begin the walk closer to the main part of town.

How Long Is the Trail?

The entire trail is 3.9km return. And, you’ll be looking at spending around 1 hour to complete the trail with a couple of stops along the way.

Feel free to stop at the love swing and take some photos. Additionally, there is also a small Warung on the way if you would like to grab a refreshment.

I like to use maps from AllTrails to get the best idea on a track before heading to the location. Plus, this website gives me ideas on other walking tracks to complete within the area.

Finally, if you would like to grab a drink or some food at the north end of the trail, I recommend checking out one of the local cafes like Hilltop Cafe. They provide some fantastic drinks and food and are an excellent way to reset.

Not to mention, you don’t have to complete the trail twice if you don’t want to or find it’s a bit too hot to complete. You can always organise a grab taxi to pick you up at the end for a lift back into town.

Entrance Fee and Opening Hours

You’ll be pleased to know that there is no entrance fee to the Campuhan Ridge walk, and, there are no opening hours. Meaning, you can visit at any time of the day!

However, I would recommend trying to get here before it gets too hot in the day so that you can enjoy the walk entirely.

Explore with a Guide

If you’re one of those people that prefer to take a guided activity, then this might be a good option for you. Moreover, you will get to wander the hiking trail and then make your way to the sacred monkey forest.

Plus, going with a guide is a great way to learn more information about the area and receive a local perspective. Feel free to click the link below to learn more about the walking tour.
