Not much needs to be said about this magnificent surfing location since it has a fantastic reputation among many locals and travellers.

Besides, it’s an ideal spot for learners, amateurs and pros to enjoy some fun in the waves. Additionally, all of the beaches of Phillip Island are fantastic, but be mindful of where you swim or surf; Always read signage before entering the water.

Finally, I encourage you to do some exploring and discover other beaches in the area. It’s great fun to take a drive down an unusual road that ends up at an incredible beach!

Cape Woolamai Coastal Walk

Start your journey on the Cape Woolamai Coastal Walk by choosing from one of the tracks or take on the complete circuit. However, be aware the entire lap is 8.5km, which requires decent fitness levels and hiking shoes or quality runners. This trail might not be ideal for children, so it may be best to choose a certain path to take.

Firstly, begin your walk by parking at the surf life-saving area, then proceed towards the trails. These paths are easily accessible.

Explore the SS Shipwreck Speke

Get your adventurous side running with a quest for the SS Shipwreck Speke. To begin your journey, you will need to head to Kitty Miller Bay and use the parking provided.

However, before travelling to this location, check the current tides as the safest and best viewing time is during low tide.

Upon arrival at the beach, begin your walk to the left side. Then, you will need to walk roughly 900m from the bay to reach the wreck.

The only part of the ship that can you can view here is the bow of the boat. Unfortunately, the rest of the ship was scattered along the rest of the reef upon impact. While inspecting this section of the vessel, be sure to examine the rusted steel as it erodes from the ocean.

This accident occurred on November 8th 1905.
